Born and raised in North Miami, Carol Keys has called the same house her home since the day she was born. As a child, Carol attended Natural Bridge Elementary School, North Miami Junior High and North Miami Senior High. Carol received her B.S.B.A. in Accounting and a Bachelor of Advanced Accounting from The University of Florida, her J.D. from The Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and her Masters in Taxation Law from the University of Miami Law School.
Carol was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1978 and has maintained her private law practice since being admitted. She is an active member of the North Dade Bar Association. Carol’s office sits on Biscayne Boulevard and 127th Street in North Miami.
Always taking an interest in her community, Carol has served as President of the North Miami Senior Citizens Foundation, the Police Athletic League, North Miami Chamber of Commerce and the Keystone Pointe Homeowners Association. She has served as Treasurer of the North Dade and Beaches Real Estate Council since its inception. Carol has also served on the City of North Miami Board of Adjustment for 15 years, most of those as Chair.
In June of 2013, Carol was elected to the North Miami City Council, receiving nearly 62% of the votes cast.
